6. CMAQv5.4+ Benchmark on HBv3_120 compute nodes and Lustre

Run CMAQv5.4+ on a using pre-loaded software and input data on Lustre using HBv3_120 Cycle Cloud.

• 6.1. Use Cycle Cloud pre-installed with CMAQv5.4+ software and 12US1 Benchmark data.
• 6.2. This method relies on obtaining the code and data from blob storage.
  • 6.2.1. Use a configuration file from the github by cloning the repo to your local machine
  • 6.2.2. Lustre - Request Public Preview
  • 6.2.3. Create Lustre Server
  • 6.2.4. Blob Storage - Lustre hierarchical storage management
• 6.3. Update Cycle Cloud
• 6.4. Log into the new cluster
• 6.5. Verify Software
• 6.6. Download the input data from the AWS Open Data CMAS Data Warehouse.
• 6.7. Verify Input Data
• 6.8. Examine CMAQ Run Scripts
• 6.9. To run on the Shared Volume a code modification is required.
• 6.10. Build the code by running the makefile
• 6.11. Submit Job to Slurm Queue to run CMAQ on Lustre
  • 6.11.1. Check status of run
  • 6.11.2. Successfully started run
  • 6.11.3. Once the job is successfully running
• 6.12. Submit a run script to run on the shared volume
  • 6.12.1. Submit a 576 pe job 6 nodes x 96 cpus on the EBS volume /shared
  • 6.12.2. The per-processor log files are beind sent to the output directory
• 6.13. Submit a minimum of 2 benchmark runs
