3. Intermediate Tutorial

Run CMAQ on a single Virtual Machine (VM) using HBv120 and AlmaLinux 8.5 HPC - Gen2.

• 3.1. Create a HB120rs_v2 Virtual Machine
• 3.2. Login to the Virtual Machine
• 3.3. Mount the disk on the server as /shared using the instructions on the following link:

  • 3.3.6. Edit fstab
  • 3.3.7. Verify the /shared directory
  • 3.3.8. Create subdirectories on /shared
• 3.4. Alternatively, you can create an nvme stripped disk that has faster performance.
• 3.5. Obtain the Cyclecloud-cmaq code from github
  • 3.5.1. Load the openmpi module
  • 3.5.2. Install Cycle Cloud Repo
  • 3.5.3. Install and build netcdf C, netcdf Fortran, I/O API, and CMAQ
• 3.6. Change shell to use tcsh
• 3.7. Create Environment Module for Libraries
• 3.8. Install and Build CMAQ
• 3.9. Copy the run scripts from the repo to the run directory
• 3.10. Download the Input data from the S3 Bucket
